Four Generations of Tradition

  Edmund Meade comes from a long line of attorneys. He is the fourth successive member of the Meade Family to practice law in Virginia. The Meades have represented Virginians for over 100 years. Edmund Meade’s father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were all distinguished attorneys in Virginia.

  All of the Meades were educated at the University of Virginia School of Law. Edmund Meade’s great-grandfather, Julian Meade, began practicing law in Danville, Virginia, in the 1800s. Julian Meade’s son, Edwin B. Meade, is a former President of the Virginia Bar Association (1956 – 1957) and lecturer at the University of Virginia School of Law. He joined his father’s practice in 1920. Edwin B. Meade’s son, Frank O. Meade, continued the tradition by joining with his father in the practice of law in 1958.
